Sonntag nach Trinitatis ist ein Sonntag der offenen Arme: So, wie der Vater seinen verlorenen Sohn in die Arme schließt, der reuevoll zurückkehrt, nachdem er sein Erbe durchgebracht hat, so ist auch Gott, sagt das Gleichnis vom verlorenen Sohn. „Denn der Menschensohn ist gekommen, zu suchen und selig zu machen, was verloren ist.“
