Alle gute Gabe kommt her von Gott dem Herrn! Am Erntedankfest ist die Kirche festlich geschmückt mit Obst und Gemüse, mit Kornähren und Sonnenblumen. Traditionell steht der Dank für die Ernte im Mittelpunkt – und dazu Dank für alles, was gelungen ist. Das Erntedankfest erinnert daran: Was wirklich wichtig ist im Leben, können wir nur empfangen.
Das Erntedankfest wird in Deutschland in aller Regel am ersten Sonntag im Oktober gefeiert. Es kann aber auch andere Ortstraditionen geben.

All good gifts come from the Lord God! On Thanksgiving Day, the church is festively decorated with fruit and vegetables, ears of corn and sunflowers. Traditionally, the focus is on giving thanks for the harvest – and thanks for all that has been achieved. Thanksgiving is a reminder that we can only receive what is really important in life.
